X-Lab are based in Leeds and transform healthcare on a global level by developing efficient and scalable digital solutions. Formed in 2006 by staff and students from the University of Leeds, the company quickly built a national reputation for successfully delivering ground-breaking digital health within the UK NHS, the private sector and on an international scale. X-Lab’s innovations focus on designing digital solutions which transform healthcare by challenging the way its providers think and work.
The drive to build digital technologies to transform healthcare runs through the heart of X-Lab’s company ethos. Our aim is to develop faster, more cost-efficient ways of delivering healthcare for both providers and receivers. By prioritising patient-safety, speed of care and provision at scale, our team consistently deliver outstanding solutions that place supporting people, be they patients or clinicians, at the core.
Our multi-disciplinary team embody this outlook; together, using their varying academic and professional backgrounds, they develop and deliver X-Lab’s solutions through a common passion for improving healthcare. The team work creatively and collaboratively to develop new systems, improve X-Lab’s solutions and deliver these to the healthcare providers who need them – they are the company’s greatest asset.
From vision, to development, to delivery, to support: our approach is one of robust determination, reliability and commitment. In every partnership, collaboration or customer-relationship we focus on delivering quality solutions and service to deliver quality care.
Chief Executive Officer
‘Having worked in healthcare integration and grown successful IT service businesses over the past 15 years, I recognised the value of both the products and the people at X-Lab. My goal is to support the staff, inspire innovation and empower our future leaders to achieve our international growth aspirations.’
‘After working at X-Lab during my placement year, it was amazing to come back and work on some exciting and challenging projects when I had finished my degree. I’ve had the opportunity to develop personally and professionally at X-Lab while working on projects I really care about.’
‘While I don’t work on the technical side of the business, I love applying my creativity to represent the solutions that X-Lab produces. From developing current brands to envisioning new identities for future business developments, my role both challenges me and gives me the freedom to design.’
‘The great thing about my job is having oversight of strategic initiatives which I get to manage from the point when it’s just a vision right through to its successful implementation. I need to have a head for ideas, organisation, coordination and communication which allows me to be involved in all areas of X-Lab.’
Business Development Director
‘Having spent my childhood in a health and care setting, I thrive in the knowledge that delivering software to improve clinical services could better at least one patient outcome or experience. I work with senior stakeholders across the business to set our future direction and ensure this is realised through day-to-day delivery.’
Head of Finance
‘Having worked at X-Lab for more than eight years, it’s great to witness how X-Lab has grown from a small company of just five staff to around five times that. During that time, the company has grown its financial position and I have enjoyed using my financial knowledge throughout this process.’
‘I’m able to use my skills and knowledge to lead the ‘Support’ area of the business. My role is both technical and customer-facing; I lead a team who directly help our customers across the health sector to better understand our solutions or fix problems. As a result, they are able to help patients and provide safer care.’
‘Helping people to deploy X-Lab’s solutions holds projected benefits beyond the healthcare setting. I play a part in implementing systems that reduce errors and speed up result times which, eventually, influence clinical care and the wellbeing of patients. It’s very rewarding.’
